Nintendo have announced their financial results for the second quarter of the financial year, and there’s some good news with Wii U sales rising.
The console has been slow in popularity but figures reveal that over 610,000 Wii U consoles were sold within the second quarter, which is double the figure from the previous 12 months. Although the rise in sales are good news, Nintendo are still way off their sales targets. The company will now be hoping that the impending release of Super Smash Bros will boost figures even higher.
In other news the Nintendo 3DS saw its sales fall from 2.49 million last year, to 1.27 million. This isn’t too much of a surprise with a stagnated market and also smartphone gaming becoming much more popular.
